The Fray Holding a Wiffleball

The Fray holding a wiffleball

MLW Staff waited for over an hour to meet with The Fray after a recent concert at Wilbur Theater in Boston, Massachusetts. It was well worth the wait; the band posed for photos and hung out with fans, including our staff members until well after midnight.

The Fray was formed in 2002, and currently consists of (from left-to-right) Ben Wysocki (drums and percussion), Dave Welsh (guitar), Joe King (guitar and vocals), and Isaac Slade (vocals and piano). In December 2006, they were nominated for two Grammys at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.

The band was thrilled to pose for a photo holding a wiffleball. Each member of The Fray even autographed the wiffleball in the photo for MLW Commissioner Shaun Breen. Ben Wysocki (on the left) caught us off-guard — when we mentioned for them to visit majorleaguewiffleball.com to see the photo, he said, “That’s your site?” as if he already knew about it!

We’d like to point out that The Fray are truly great guys. They met with EVERYONE in Wilbur Theater that had a wristband. Some fans traveled from as far away as Alaska to see this show.

The Fray has a new CD coming out on February 3, 2009 titled “The Fray”. You can order their new CD here.

Or you can pick up their double platinum CD “How to Save a Life”, featuring hit songs Over My Head (Cable Car) and How To Save A Life.
