He was one of our original six league members. So it’s fitting that Joe Yerdon is now working as the lead writer/editor for Pro Hockey Talk on NBCSports.com.

Over the years, Joe has dislocated his shoulder several times, and his wiffleball career seems to be over. Still, Joe will continue to get hits, but they won’t be with a wiffleball bat, and they won’t help his career .308 batting average. Instead, those hits will be from visitors reading his hockey articles.

Did you know that the NHL season starts tomorrow? Me neither. But my friend, and fellow MLW player Joe Yerdon probably did. Joe likes to write about ice hockey, especially what’s wrong with it, on his blog, Gross Misconduct Hockey. He often bashes Gary Bettman, for good reason, but being a league Commissioner isn’t as easy as you’d think. Trust me, I know.

Bettman has another problem though that’s beyond his control — ice hockey just isn’t fun.
