Swingin’ For Santa

Swingin' For Santa

While many of us are spending the day playing with our new Christmas presents, or out returning the ones that we didn’t want for cash, Chico, California is celebrating the return of wiffleball to “The Sac”.

Rather than call it something plain and expected like “Winterball”, Joe Creighton and his brother Terry, of Wiffleball2K, have organized “Swingin’ For Santa”, a Christmas-themed wiffleball event.

It’s a tradition for the Creighton brothers to give gifts to all of the “SFS” participants. In the past, they’ve given out wiffleball highlight DVDs and homemade Wiffleball2K-branded soda. This year’s gift is still a secret.

The Swingin’ For Santa event wraps up with a competitive eating competition where each player tries to devour a huge burrito as fast as possible, with the person finishing first, and not puking, declared the winner.

This is the third “SFS” event in Wiffleball2K history, and the first since 2006. There’s a good chance they’ll be posting to their Twitter account during the event, so be sure to follow their Twitter feed for up-to-the-last-time-they-updated-it results.
