Silver and Gold

Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award winner Torii Hunter and Joe Mauer Congratulations once again to Joe Mauer and Torii Hunter. Both won Rawlings American League Gold Glove Awards earlier in the week, and later in the week, they each picked up an American League Silver Slugger Award.

MLW has already created wiffleball awards named after Torii Hunter and Joe Mauer. The player that is named the season’s top fielder wins the ‘Torii Hunter Best Fielder Award’. While the player that finishes the season with the highest batting average is named the ‘Joe Mauer Batting Champion’.

As a tribute for this year, our Twitter background has been updated to include Mauer and Hunter. It’s not going to win any design awards, but it’s supposed to be the thought that counts. It’s changed several times a year, so check out our Twitter page before it gets updated again.
