MLW Home Run King Turns 32

Share

Mike Breen hitting a home run Major League Wiffleball all-time home run king Mike Breen is celebrating his 32nd birthday today. Mike belted 58 home runs over three seasons, and won the single season home run title in each of those three seasons (Season 1: 12; Season 2: 18; Season 3: 28). Quentin Jensen, and Mike’s cousin Shaun Breen both trail Mike, and share second place with 41 home runs each during their careers.

In addition to being the wiffleball home run king, Mike is also the MLW leader in runs batted in (140) and total bases (310).

Mike is a three-time Wiffleball Sac Series champion, and won the first ever Justin Morneau MLW MVP Award.

You may have heard Mike’s name before. Although he’s a popular wiffleball player, he shares the same name as a famous NBA play-by-play announcer. It’s not the same person. That Mike Breen is 48.

And if you’re from the northeast US, October 4th may seem like a familiar date. Back in 1987, we experienced a snowstorm that knocked out power for days.

This year, let’s hope the only white stuff falling from the sky are wiffleballs. And if Mike Breen is hitting them, chances are they’ll be home runs.
