Joe Mauer’s Secret Hobby
It turns out that Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer is a secret rapper. He even has a music studio in his house.
When asked about Mauer’s rapping, Twins closer Joe Nathan said, “We know he loves it.”
If Mauer’s rapping career never develops, he can still rely on his baseball career. Mauer is on his way to this third American League batting title. Through 55 games this season, he is batting .392 with 14 home runs (a career high).
It’s only July, but it’s not too early to start thinking that Mauer has a shot to become the first player to hit .400 since Ted Williams in 1941. Mauer missed all of April, and all of spring training with a back injury that apparently isn’t bothering him anymore.
We’ve met with Joe a few times, and he’s a great guy, just like the Yahoo Sports article says.
