Joe Mauer is Back

Joe Mauer holding a wiffleball Major League Wiffleball is glad to see that Joe Mauer is back behind the plate for the Minnesota Twins. The Twins catcher had missed the first few weeks of the regular season due to a lower back injury.

Mauer, last season’s batting champion, was impressive in his 2009 debut, going 2-for-3, with a home run, walk, an RBI, and 3 runs scored, helping the Twins to a 7-5 win over the Kansas City Royals. He’s back in the lineup tonight, batting third, in front of Justin Morneau.

Twins closer Joe Nathan got the save, his fourth of the season.
