Dan Patrick Back on Sirius

Dan Patrick
He didn’t officially put the “Whiff” in Wiffle Ball, but that’s OK. One of my favorite radio hosts, Dan Patrick, is back on Sirius Satellite Radio. Apparently he’s been on since the Sirius/XM merger, but I just noticed this yesterday. He’s in the same time slot as ‘The Herd’ with Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio, so it’s going to be a tough decision who to listen to on a daily basis.

I’ve been a regular listener of “The Herd” for over 3 years, but Colin was out today and the fill-in hosts, Doug Gottleib and Ryen Rusillo, just weren’t the same. So after a little channel surfing on my Sirius Radio, I was shocked to see “The Dan Patrick Show” show up on my radio’s display. Finally, I could listen to Dan Patrick at work again!

Dan left ESPN in August 2007 to become a free agent and was back on the radio soon after, including on XM, but not on Sirius until recently. His show sounds very similar to the original one; he even plays the ‘ding’ when the callers mention their height and weight. It’s still the same ol’ Dan, but with a new supporting cast.

While this isn’t much of a Wiffle Ball story, chances are, if you like Wiffle Ball, you’ll like “The Dan Patrick Show”. If you’re a fellow Sirius listener, you can listen to “The Dan Patrick Show” live weekdays from 10AM – 1 PM ET on Sirius channel 122.

Thanks for taking a day off Colin! I’ll still listen, but you better be good, or else I’m flipping over to Dan Patrick.

  1. Looks like the times of the Dan Patrick Show vary now. Sirius doesn’t offer a live feed anymore. Dan’s show is still heard on Channel 122, but the rebroadcast starts at 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM depending on the day.

See the Sirius site for a full schedule:

  2. Your joking right. It is going to be a hard decision between Dan Patrick’s show and COLIN COWHERD! F%$k me! Cowherd is the biggest douche on TV. Hands down the worst sports talk show I’ve ever heard. He knows nothing about sports, or life in general. Colin Cowherd, please go kill yourself you miserable son of a bitch. The Dan Patrick show is on a whole different level than any piece of shit show on ESPN. The most overrated channel on television. ESPN sucks. Colin Cowherd sucks. Mike Greenberg sucks. Do they hire anyone who actually played a sport in their life or just grab geeks off the street. PLEASE STOP WATCHING COLIN COWHERD. You obviously don’t know shit about sports radio if your watching that crap.

Brandon, you’re mostly right. I wrote that almost 2 years ago and I’m no longer a Colin Cowherd fan.

Nowadays, I don’t listen to Colin or Dan as much as I used to. Unfortunately, it’s easier in my area to find Colin Cowherd on the air though, so I usually catch part of his show instead, but I’d prefer to listen to Dan Patrick.

I do like Mike Greenberg though, at least on Mike & Mike in the Morning. And I never thought ESPN was that bad. They’ve got their issues, but they’re a watchable network, for me anyway.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.
