| Game 2 |
(Marc, Mike, Quentin, and Joe)
vs. (Eric, Shaun, and Matt)
Shaun Breen's team evened up the series
at one game apiece in perhaps the best pitching duel of the season. Shaun
faced off against opposing captain and cousin Mike Breen in a game that
will likely be remembered for years to come. Combined, the Breens only
allowed 3 hits in the entire game, but Mike walked 6 of the 20 batters
that he faced, which was the deciding factor of the ballgame.
Mike's team did get off to an early lead though. In the top of the first
the captain hit a 1-0 pitch into the grass beyond left field for a home
run. But Mike couldn't hold the lead as he allowed 2 walks and two singles
in the bottom of the inning resulting in 1-1 tie going into the top of
the second.
The game remained tied at one until the bottom of the fourth when Breen
walked 4 batters in the inning, resulting in a 2-1 deficit for his team.
The one-run deficit was too great to overcome, as Shaun Breen's team held
on to tie the series at one.
Game One star Quentin Jensen was held hitless. He went 0-3 with 2 strikeouts
and a walk on a 3-2 pitch in the second. Matt Ceccucci reached base four
times, going 1-3 with 3 walks.
