MLW listed in ESPN the Magazine

"It's official. We're big-time." That was Marc Ceccucci's reaction when he became the first local player to confirm the rumors of majorleaguewiffleball.com being listed in the August 6th issue of ESPN the Magazine.

August 6th issue of ESPN the Magazine The rumors began when Shaun Breen received an e-mail from Mike of the Wheeling Wiffleball Association congratulating him on being listed in the magazine. "It was news to me," said Breen. "I had to find out more, so I posted a message on the message board. Soon after I was receiving posts, e-mails, and phone calls about it. The confirmation for me came from league member Ryan Montalbano. So I did what any other person would do. I immediately rushed out and bought a copy of the magazine."

In a short area (approximately 3" X 3") on page 52 of the August 6th issue of ESPN the magazine, it looks something like the following:

Forget Barry and Luis. Shaun, Quentin and Mike all
set a mark last month with HR No. 13. (In other news,
Shaun's dad got hitched.)

Breen continued, "I'm so happy that all the hard work that I put into this site paid off. It's good to be rewarded every now and then." He concluded with, "It's too bad I'm a triskaidekaphobic. It makes me wish I had hit just one more home run or that they took an extra couple of weeks to find the site. Then I wouldn't have 'that number' over my name. Oh well, we'll gladly accept the publicity. Thanks ESPN!"
