About Matt Ceccucci: Matt is one of the younger players in the league, but it doesn't seem to affect him. Matt finished only one-half point out of third place in 2000, but missed a playoff spot altogether in 2001. In 2000, he won the most improved player award after having a great second half, but he still whiffed enough to take home the Kellogg's Special K Award for most strikeouts batting.

2002 Outlook: Matt struggled late in the season and fell out of playoff contention on the last day of the regular season. If he avoids long innings on the mound, he should do just fine in 2002. His hitting has gotten better, and his fielding is not to be overlooked. A gold glove is not out of the question.
