Aamir Chaudhry returns home for MLW debut
None of the MLW players had seen him in 6 years, but luckily,
Aamir Chaudhry stumbled across this web site
and found his old pals. Chaudhry, who has been working for Raytheon in Boston, MA as an
electrical engineer for the past 2 years left Cohoes in 1996 for Syracuse University. None
of the players had seen him since.
Chaudhry
posted a message
on the message board and was immediately invited to join the league. He played well,
earning a save in the first game, and going 5-for-9 at the plate in the second half of
the doubleheader. Despite only playing in 2 games, he appears to be the current favorite
for the 2002 Rookie of the Year Award.
In the future, Aamir Chaudhry may be looked upon as the Jackie Robinson of MLW. On Sunday
he became the first non-Caucasian to participate in the league.
Because he lives so far away, Chaudhry will be unable to attend regularly, but it is hoped that he
will continue to make occasional appearances.
Chaudhry grew up playing baseball with league members
Mike Breen,
Shaun Breen, and
Quentin Jensen.
