Ten Question Interview: Joe Creighton – Wiffleball2K.com

Ten Question Interview: Joe Creighton - Wiffleball2K.com

Back in 2000, I got the idea to form my own wiffleball league in Cohoes, New York from a web site run by Joe Creighton across the country in Chico, California.

Joe, who is now living in Seattle, Washington, is the founder and commissioner of Wiffleball2K. Last winter he returned to Chico, CA and organized “Swingin’ For Santa”, a day of wiffleball with a Christmas theme (and an eating contest).

Just before the event took place, Joe was kind enough to answer a few questions in the first ever MLW interview.

My beach wiffleball career got off to a rough start. Back in February 1982, (former) Mets pitcher Neil Allen struck me out on three pitches in Treasure Island, Florida. I was 3 years old.

Neil Allen went on to get traded to the Cardinals for Keith Hernandez, and in recent years, Allen’s son (Neil Jr.) went on to date a former girlfriend of MLW’s own Joe Yerdon. That’s 100% true. It’s a small world after all.

Anyway, a few months ago, I visited Cocoa Beach, Florida with high hopes of making some happier beach wiffleball memories. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
