5th Annual Connor Fenton Memorial Scholarship Wiffle Ball Tournament

On Sunday, October 18, 2009, the 5th Annual Connor Fenton Memorial Scholarship Wiffle Ball Tournament and Fundraiser will be held at the James Street Park in Carterville, Illinois. The event will also feature the Bears for Booboos Teddy Bear Drive.

Team registration will begin at 12:30 PM, and Wiffle Ball games will begin at 1:00 PM. Lunch will be served from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM. You’ll have your choice of a hamburger, hot dog, or slice of pizza with chips, drink, and dessert for only $5.00. Be sure to save some room for the whipped cream pie-eating contest.

Teams, volunteers, sponsors, and silent auction items are needed.

The Wiffle Ball tournament will have 3 age categories, and trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams in each division. Prizes will also be awarded to the team with the most creative name and the team with the most creative uniforms.

Several $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to 6 or more graduates in the Class of 2011 at Carterville High School. (2011 is the year Connor Fenton would have graduated.) To date, over $32,000 has been raised for this scholarship. Those raising the money are not eligible to receive this scholarship. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to the Connor Fenton Memorial Scholarship, and all bears are donated to Bears for Booboos.
